Why Buy Bay Window Curtains from 3HLinen

Bay window treatments can be a breathtaking addition to any room. Bay windows themselves are already gorgeous, bringing in plenty of light while also creating a space that you can use for decorating or even as a bed for your pets. And curtains can enhance them even more.

From light-filtering curtains that bring in sunlight while also offering privacy to gorgeous Roman shades, our bay window curtains can deliver.  Let’s look at how our bay window curtains stand above the rest.

The Many Bay Window Curtains

Not all bay window curtains are created equal. Here are some curtains you may consider, all of which we offer.

Roman Shades

Roman shades combine the texture of curtains with the collapsibility of blinds. This combination makes it easy to open or close the curtains and adds a unique aesthetic to your bay window.

Blackout Curtains

Blackout curtains are designed to obscure any sunlight that may come through your window. These bay window treatments are perfect for a primary bedroom or any other bedroom in your home. Not everyone gets up at the crack of dawn, and these curtains will ensure the sun doesn’t wake you up. In addition, blackout curtains work well during the summer, keeping the cool air inside and saving you some money on electricity bills.

Light-Filtering Curtains

These curtains filter about 30% of light, making them ideal when you want a room to have enough privacy, while also letting in sunlight. Our curtains have adjustable light filtering levels, from no filtering to total blackout!

Insulated Curtains

These curtains are like an extra layer of insulation in your home. If you live in a cold area, these curtains can keep your home warm and snug.

Cafe Curtains

These drapery panels are great for smaller windows, covering your smaller bay windows with grace. If you have a little breakfast nook, these curtains are perfect for the first meal of the day.

Installing Your Bay Window Curtains

You don’t need to be a tech expert to install your bay window curtains. Whether you’re hanging bathroom curtains, blinds, or custom drapes, we make it easy for you to do so.

This is because we designed our drapes for easy fitting and mounting. We can also link you to any professional tutorials online if you’re still having trouble. That being said, in the unlikely event that your curtain installation is problematic, professional help can assist you. A handyman can install your drapes with ease.

That said, while installing your bay window treatments is easy, there are some rules to follow. Follow these rules, and you’ll save yourself some headaches later on.

Measuring Your Curtains

There’s nothing more disappointing than getting your window treatments, only to find out they’re too big or too small. That’s why it’s so important to measure before ordering. Our bay window curtain panels can be custom-ordered to fit your windows. You just need to do the measuring. Measure what the inside mount area around your window will be, then measure what the desired length of your curtain should be.

Be sure to measure again. And again for good measure. If possible, have a second pair of eyes to measure your window. While you don’t need to be precise to the millimeter, get the measurements as accurate as possible. Your sanity will thank you later.

Bay Window Curtain Rod Placement

You may think that it’s easy to place a bay window curtain rod, but things can go horribly wrong. Too high, and the curtains won’t cover the entire bay window. Too low, and the drapery panels awkwardly brush against the floor. You can also place the rod crookedly. Unless you’re trying to have an abstract look, we wouldn’t recommend this.

You may need to measure the curtain’s length against how high you need to place the rod. You may also want to use another tool, like a laser leveler, to help you determine if your rod is hung straight.

If the curtain rod is long, you may need another human to help you out. Your spouse, your kid, your roommate—have them hold the other side of the rod as you screw it in. If you don’t have anyone to help, you may need professional help.

Seating Nooks

Some bay window areas may have a seating nook. Seating nooks can be fun places to relax in the sun or even as a makeshift bed. Curtains can enhance the bay window seating nook. You can purchase matching accessories, such as pillows or blankets, that complement or contrast your bay windows.

Also, if you want to use your seating nook as a bed in addition to your primary bedroom, you can purchase blackout bay window panels. These curtains can keep the sun out and also add privacy for guests.

A little bit of style awareness is all it takes to make your seating nook shine!

You Have Questions, We Have Answers

There are many other questions you may have about bay window treatments. We hope to answer them below.

What Are the Best Bay Window Drapes?

It all depends on how your windows are designed and what you need. Some people just want drapery that will add privacy or block out the sun. Others? They want a certain contrast that gives them a feeling. That unexplainable feeling that the room is complete. Our store has many colors, combinations, and customizations you can take advantage of. Whether you want thick drapes, blinds, or shutters, we have you covered. We are offering our bay window curtains in different headings: grommet curtains, pinch pleat, rod pocket, tape top & others. Loved the curtains but want them in another heading? Feel free to contact us for a custom quote.

What’s the Difference Between Blackout and Filtering Curtains?

Blackout curtains are just that—a total blackout. They can turn a sunny room into one of almost pure darkness, making it great for night owls who sleep through the day. Light-filtering treatments add some sunlight to your room but also maintain that privacy.

What Are Curtain Panels?

These are simply separated parts of a curtain. For example, a window may have one curtain panel on the left side. Then, another is perfectly on the right. You can then draw them together to cover the entire window! They’re what most people think of when they think of a curtain over a window frame.

Do Curtains Need a Rod?

Most do, with the exception of blinds and panels. If your bay window has a rod already and the new curtains will fit, you don’t need to worry. But you may need a new rod. You can hang up a curtain through other means, like thumbtacks, sticky mounts, etc. However, these won’t look as pretty, and you can’t draw or open them as easily.

Are Your Curtains Custom?

Yes! That’s the main appeal of 3HLinen. Many come to us when those pre-made curtains at the department store just aren’t cutting it. We sell curtains in custom sizes, colors, and light-filtering options. For example, you can get Roman shades, blinds, shutters, and more. This way, you’ll have the perfect drapery for your home.
