Frequently Asked Questions

What Are Your Waterproof Shower Curtain Liners Made Out Of?

Our best-selling shower curtain liners are made from Oxford fabric, AKA backpack fabric. It’s made from 100% polyester, and is designed to be low-maintenance. This backing is also waterproof for daily showering, OEKO-certified, and contains no harmful chemicals.

How Many Grommets Does a Standard 72-Inch-Wide Shower Curtain Have?

A standard shower curtain has 10 grommets. Wider curtains will have more, and vice versa. The amount will always be even and will be enough so that the curtains will hang consistently and show off their beautiful look.

How Many Buttonholes Does a Standard 72-Inch-Wide Linen Shower Curtain Have?

A standard linen shower curtain will have 12 buttonholes. Wider shower curtains will have more buttons, and vice versa. The amount will always be even and will allow the shower curtain to hang gorgeously without any sagging.

What Should the Width of a Linen Shower Curtain Be?

Generally, we would recommend you measure 120% of the shower’s width. This will prevent any water splashes from happening while not adding too much fabric. So, let’s say the width is 3-feet, or 36 inches. You would multiply 36 by 1.2, which would be 43.2 in total. In this case, 43 inches would work well, though you can round up to 44 to be on the safe side.

How Do I Choose the Correct Panel Length?

Before you shop, it’s essential to measure the panel. Measure from the floor of your shower to where the curtain rod will be. Subtract around 8”-10” to give the shower curtain room to breathe. Double-check the measurement as well. Most shower curtains are 72”, while 84” works for longer showers and tubs. We have more options as well, all of which can be customized.

Is the Lining Sewn Onto the Linen Portion at the Head and Unable to Be Separated?

Our linen shower curtain panels come with or without lining. There are three styles available, which are top and sides, top only, or a separate liner.  Top and sides prevent the liner from shifting and is low-maintenance. Top-only gives the curtain more movement and is ideal for bathtubs. Meanwhile, separate liners let users change or clean the liners without worrying about the curtain.

Can the Lining Be Washed in the Washing Machine?

Only our separate waterproof lining can be put in the wash. For our linen shower curtain panels, we would recommend dry cleaning them if they require cleaning.

How Much Space Will the Linen Shower Curtain Take When Fully Opened (Stack Back)?

With rings, these curtains will not take any more than 10”-15”.

Is the Waterproof Lining Certified?

Yes! Its certification number includes OEKO-Tex Standard 100  and has Product class 1, which means these curtains are child-friendly. This certification means any linen items you order from us will be high-quality.

Do I Need a Liner for a Linen Shower Curtain?

We highly recommend you use a liner for your shower curtain. Our store offers several options for lining attachment, either covering the top and sides of the curtain or top-only. Lining at the top and sides of the curtain completely blocks water. A top-only attachment leaves the curtain outside the tub, while the liner is in the tub, making it easier to wash the liner. At the end of the day, it’s your preference.

Is Linen Durable for a Bathroom?

Yes, it is! Linen is naturally resistant to mold and frequent washings. In fact, it’s famous for softening over time. We’ve had thousands of customers who have purchased our curtains, and many of them say their shower curtains are still beautiful years later. There’s a reason our shower curtains are a best-seller.

How Can I Protect My Linen Shower Curtain From Mold?

Our linen shower curtain panels come with a waterproof lining that will prevent it from getting wet. Plus, linen is naturally mold-resistant, but very high humidity might still cause mold to appear on curtains. As you may know, mold is not only unsightly, but can be bad for your health.  There are some methods to further reduce the chances of getting mold on your linen shower curtain. After every shower, stretch the curtain out and also open a window or run the bathroom ventilation fan. Doing these actions will decrease humidity.

How Heavy Are Linen Shower Curtains?

It depends on what weight you choose. Our medium weight standard 72”x72”  shower curtains with waterproof lining are 2.62 lbs. Heavyweight  shower  curtains are 3.58 lbs. Without lining, the medium and heavyweight  shower curtains are 1.11 lbs and 2.07 lbs per panel, respectively.

How Do I Get Wrinkles Out Without Damaging the Fabric?

If you want to get wrinkles out without any harsh chemicals, the easiest way is to run a hot shower with all of the bathroom doors and windows closed for about 20 minutes. The steam should smooth out the linen shower curtains.
